Where Hearts Meet, but
Lips Cannot
Scurrying about, she tossed in the last pair
of socks. Now it was on to blouses. It was a last minute, highly important trip
in London that she was to go on to represent the company she worked for. Nothing
she couldn't handle, only a little too last minute for her liking.
Seeing her scurrying about and doubting he'd
have another chance to see her for yet another week, he walked in and gave her a
hug...and a very deep kiss, a kind they rarely shared even when they made love.
Standing by her desk, he moved and hugged
her from behind, gently resting his head on her shoulder. He whispered into her
ear, "If you return home 'happy', I'll give you every reason to plead for a new
dictionary." She smiled very widely appreciating the love she would always carry
with her in her most valuable suitcase...her heart.
"Remember, wherever there is air, lips can
touch. The places where there is no air, are the places hearts meet." Giving her
a peck on the back of her neck he smiled and left the room...leaving her much
more than content.
Sure enough, upon arrival, he did...and so
did she.
