Love Things had actually gotten better for them
since it happened. It was in a relatively small store, as the masked 'human'
fired a gun directly across and directly in front of his eyes, not two
millimeters away. It was the greatest shock to his system in his entire life.
The next result was his blindness. At first, it was very terrifying for him, as
he had not grown accustomed to almost not knowing anything, yet needing to at
the same time. He came home from the hospital that day,
although he was pretty shaky and silent, his fears totally surfaced. Later that
night, he felt a lot better sinking into their bed. At least that was familiar,
compared to the cold beds in the hospital. Sleeping on his side, facing away
from her, he felt slightly unsettled, something was different compared to every
other night when he was just about to fall asleep. She lay down and pulled the
covers over herself a few moments later. "Is it safe to sleep tonight?" he asked
from his side of their bed. Looking at his very calm, yet tense body she
replied, "Yes." "Thank you," he said as he let out a sigh and snuggled closer
against his pillow. Now it wasn't missing, but now she also knew a part of how
special he was, in terms of what he had always made certain of with his emotion. She also realized something else. No matter
how strong she knew he was; no matter how many mountains she knew he could move,
including the one beating in side her chest; he was just a...vulnerable man. She knew what that meant. Although he could
never again physically see what he had always seen in her, she'd have to remind
him that something like that never changes. Snuggling up very close to him, she gave him what he truly needed: her two arms wrapped around him....
